Ethics

http://www.spj.org/ethicscode.asp

Which (if any) of the ethics did you find to be surprising?
Encourage the public to voice grievances against the news media.
Doesn't seem like they encourage it.

Have you ever seen an example of “news” that you believe was clearly not complying with the SPJ Code of Ethics? If so, identify and explain.
Test the accuracy of information from all sources and exercise care to avoid inadvertent error. Deliberate distortion is never permissible.
CBS's Dan Rather's reports on Bush's military records. He didn't research it. Blogs found that he was pretty much faking the story and proved it.

Do you believe there are situations in which journalists should not comply with these codes?
No.

Inventions

All these inventions are pretty neat. I especially like the cars. The Toyota 1/X could actually be possible to mass produce in the future, with the gas prices so high and supply will eventually run out.
